Quilts for Kids has worked with the same community in Kathmandu for the past 15 years. We recognize that sometimes, members of our community need more than an education. For that reason, we work with our sponsors and community leaders to provide for the healthcare, financial, and community development needs of the women and children we work with.
From routine women's health clinics, eye and dental care, to urgent care and surgery, Quilts for Kids is involved in maintaining the overall wellbeing of our community. In the past two years, we have sponsored five surgeries, have subsidized countless pharmacy purchases, and have trained 20 young women in first aid at Stupa View Hospital.
Quilts for kids also provides small, short-term, business loans. With this money, members of our community have started businesses, built homes, and afforded travel to reunite families.
In association with our domestic and international partners, Quilts for Kids Nepal offers a variety of extracurricular activities for our children and families. Programs include the Nepal Girl Guides and Scouts program, Yoga Nepal, and GirlUp Kathmandu.
The Quilts for Kids community exists around the world. We partner with hospitals, schools, festivals, and museums around the world to spread the word regarding the Quilts for Kids mission.
