School is expensive for marginalized communities. And for many families in developing countries, children are simply a source of income. Quilts for Kids Nepal provides a stable source of income for economically-challenged women so that the kids are free to go to school. All through the sale of beautiful hand-stitched quilts.
With the purchase of a single quilt, you can help send a girl to school. 100% of your money goes to fund school tuition, uniforms, books and backpacks. And with each year that a young woman attends school, her potential annual earnings increase by 10%. That means more educated women, making more empowered decisions, about their own future.
By providing women with a market for their traditional hand-stitched quilts, we give them an opportunity to earn a living for themselves & to send their kids to school.
Through our sponsorship we keep at-risk children, especially girls, off the street & in the classroom where they belong.
When we started working in "the begging camp" in Kathmandu, almost no one in the community had seen the inside of a school. Last year, we sent our first student to college in the USA. Change doesn't happen overnight. But with your help, we can continue our work toward 100% literacy in our very special community.
With the purchase of each quilt, you help make the impossible possible!
We need your help to ensure that every child in our community who wants to go to school, has the opportunity. Here is how you can help.
Become a monthly donor. Sponsor a child. Donate to the women's sewing cooperative. Give to our endowment fund.
Host an event at your home or school. Volunteer in Kathmandu. Partner to create new products. We're open to anything!
